How to Read This Commercial Asphalt Gallery
Most asphalt galleries show one thing: a finished lot on a sunny day. That is the easy shot. However, it tells you almost nothing about how the work was done.
So we grouped these by stage instead. First you see a lot before we touch it. Then the crew mid-job, sealing cracks and spreading coat. Finally the finished surface, with fresh line work on it.
Judge the middle photos rather than the last ones. That is where quality actually lives. A sealed lot photographs well either way, but the preparation underneath is what decides whether it lasts.

Finished Lots

Sealcoating
The protective coat that blocks UV and water. Applied by squeegee and spray.

Hot-pour sealant, routed and filled. Cheap now, and it prevents expensive later.

Where the job usually starts: cracked, faded surface that is taking on water.

What to Look For in These Photos
Photos can hide a lot, so here is what actually matters.
Check the edges first. Good work has clean lines at curbs, islands and door thresholds. Sloppy work runs sealer up the concrete, or leaves a ragged stop line. Then look at coverage. An even coat reads as one flat tone, whereas a rushed one shows streaks and thin patches.
Next, look at the cracks in our before shots. Notice they get routed and filled, rather than smeared over. That matters, because sealer alone cannot bridge an open gap. Anyone who skips that step is buying you one season.
Finally, study the stall lines. Crisp paint with square ends means the surface was clean and dry when it went down. Fuzzy edges mean it was not. Meanwhile the blue accessible stalls should have a marked side aisle beside them, since that is what the code requires.
None of this is hard to judge once you know. So use these photos as a yardstick, even if you end up hiring someone else.
